Over
the last couple of days WhatsApp was banning it’s user for 24 hours who were
using a third party chat client WhatsApp+
to use two WhatsApp account on the same
phone. The company started banning users of these apps and then finally sent a cease and desist letter to the most popular app WhatsApp+—which
has effectively shut it down.
Upgrading
its services, WhatsApp has launched its web-based chat client to make chat
conversations on web browsers . Rumors of it coming soon started appearing
yesterday when screenshots of the latest WhatsApp app leaked showing an
interface for logging into the web app. You can use its web based service by
scanning the QR code in-browser, after which one can start chatting with
WhatsApp friends from the desktop.
This
service is currently not available for iOS version of the app. To use this
service on your Android, Windows or Blackberry smartphone navigate to the
“WhatsApp Web” page by following https://web.whatsapp.com/. From there, you’ll
need to scan a QR code. This browser based chat service currently works only
with Google Chrome. WhatsApp says that they will provide support for other web
browser soon.
